Governor Willie Obaino of Anambra State appoints a Sign Language Interpreter as his SA on Communication for the Deaf.

The Governor of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obaino appoints a Sign Language Interpreter named Joseph Collins as his Special Assistant (SA) on Sign Language Communication for the Deaf on the 3rd of April 2017 and put it in writing on 10th of April 2017. This was done as a result of the Joint National Association Of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Anambra state Chapter visit to the governor lodge

The governor also approved free transportation for disabled in the state as well as free education and automatic employment for disabled graduates from the state.

Two months ago, the same governor, inaugurated nine newly appointed permanent Secretaries. Out of the said newly appointes, five were women with four men which includes a PHYSICALLY-CHALLENGED man.

This is a good development and job-well-done by JONAPWD both state and national.

OVER ONE THOUSAND HEARING AIDS TO BE GIVEN FOR FREE BY OLUSEGUN OBASANJO FOUNDATION.

The Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation, OOF (Nigeria) in partnership with Starkey Hearing Foundation will be given out thousands of free Hearing Aids to people with hearing impairment. The foundation will also be giving free hearing care and treatment to people in states across Nigeria.The project has started since March 2017 in some selected states and will continue until further notice. Kano indegines disagree over Sanusi's recent comment on Islamic marriage

Emir of kano,  Mohammed Sanusi II Some indigenes of Kano State have reacted to some statements by the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, with some describing them as critical and inflammatory comments on religious and family issues. Mr. Sanusi, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, recently called for the regulation of marriage to second wives. He warned men who could not cater for their family not to marry more than one wife. The foremost traditional ruler also criticised conservative northern leaders who discouraged attitudes and activities that, he said, would have developed the region.
