The expectations of many N-Power 2016 beneficiaries were shattered yesterday when Afolabi Imoukhuede , the senior special assistant to the president on job creation (N-Power Scheme) said in a facebook LIVE video that there is no permanency employment to the 2016 beneficiaries. He encourage the 2016 participant to save for investment and plan ahead since the scheme is only for two years. On the pre-selected candidates, he said he empathized with them but the scheme don't want to struggle in paying them and that is why they have not been finally selected. He said they have not lost sight of them. He urged them to hold faith and said they will try to make it happen in the second quarter and also promised that they will get their necessary things needed for the scheme before deployment unlike the 2016 applicants. Two days ago, the Senate passed the Not Too Young To Run bill. This means at age 35, Nigerian youths can contest for President and at the age of 30, a Governor or Senators. At age 25, legislate in the National and State Assemblies across the country. I am happy that the Senate has passed the #nottooyoungtorunbill. At age 35-40, I would probable be the president of Federal Republic of Nigeria. LOLs But I am disappointed seeing some people living with Disability celebrating the passing of the bill when our own bill, #DisabilityrightsBill is there sitting or abandoned either at the Senate or the Presidency. Who will benefit from the "not too young to lead" bill passed by the Senate? The N-power TAX have started their test today 1st July. And many people who have applied are complaining that they haven't received any message from N-power. If you are sure that your BVN matches the name you used to apply​ for the N-power TAX, you need not worry because the test is done in part. As it started today, it's going to continue till Monday. If you have not received the message yesterday, then expect it today or tomorrow. As of now, the test is only for N-power Tax, the other program like N-power Teach, N-power Agro, etc will conduct their test afterwards. Mr. Sanusi, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, recently called for the regulation of marriage to second wives. He warned men who could not cater for their family not to marry more than one wife. Shareholders have proposed that Facebook Inc. prepare a report on the threat fake news spread on the social media poses to democracy and free speech, PREMIUM TIMES has learnt. According to a proxy filing made on Friday, which its board of directors have recommended a vote against, the shareholders also want the report to look into the dangers fake news may pose to the company itself. The proposal, which suggests the company review the issue broadly, said Facebook had provided “a financial mechanism supporting fabricated content” on the internet. Reuters news agency reports, Saturday, that it also includes the extent to which it blocks fake posts, how its strategies impact free speech and how it evaluates claims in posts. On April 5th, Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II took a swipe at the Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari, over his recent controversial statement that the current meningitis epidemic is as a result of the prevalence of immorality in the country. The United Nations migration agency said last week that Growing numbers of African migrants passing through Libya are traded in what they call slave markets before being held for ransom, forced labour or sexual exploitation. West African migrants interviewed by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) have recounted being bought and sold in garages and car parks in the southern city of Sabha, one of Libya’s main migrant smuggling hubs.
